Rachel Feldman
Rachel Feldman, LCSW-C is a clinical social worker licensed in Maryland and Florida, specializing in trauma recovery for adults. She earned her Master of Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, where she also received a certification in Trauma-Informed Practice. She is currently completing
intermediate-level training in Somatic Experiencing® through the Somatic Experiencing Institute. Rachel has also received training in psychoanalytic theory through the International Psychotherapy Institute in Washington, DC.
Rachel offers individual therapy for adults 18 and older who have experienced relational trauma that continues to show up in their relationships and nervous systems. She understands that trauma can surface in ways people often feel ashamed of, such as emotional dysregulation, compulsive sexual behaviors, substance abuse, self-injurious behaviors, or unhealthy relationship patterns. Rachel is passionate about helping clients who have previously found therapy to be a “band-aid” and are seeking deep, long-lasting change.
Her psychodynamic and somatic approach integrates both “top-down” and “bottom-up” methods of trauma recovery. Rachel supports clients cognitively by exploring and understanding earlier experiences and ongoing patterns, and physically by helping to release trauma held in the body. Rachel believes trauma
healing is a holistic process and views therapy as one step toward regaining a sense of safety and connection.
